Affiliate Disclosure

Put simply: this site earns affiliate commissions. We provide this disclosure in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255).

What that means

A lot of the links on this site — including the buttons on review pages that send you to a product's official website — are affiliate links. Click one, make a purchase, and the merchant pays us a commission.

It never costs you a cent more. The price on screen is the same one you would pay reaching that page by any other route. The commission comes out of the merchant's margin, not your wallet.

Why we use them

Affiliate commissions are what keep this site running. The alternatives are a paywall or selling coverage to the very companies we review — and we think both are a worse deal for the reader.

What it does not mean

  • It does not mean we endorse everything we link to. We run reviews that tell readers to walk away, and those pages carry affiliate links too.
  • It does not mean merchants sign off on our content. No company previews a draft before it goes live or has any right to alter a score afterward.
  • It does not sway our ratings. The commission arrangement plays no part in how a product is scored.

Third-party programs

We take part in affiliate programs run by third-party retailers and networks. Those companies set their own terms, prices, and refund policies. Any purchase you make is a deal between you and that merchant — we are not the seller, we do not handle payments, and we do not ship anything.

If something goes wrong with an order, a refund, or a subscription charge, reach out to the merchant directly. We are glad to point you the right way, but we have no access to your order.
